1. Acceptance

By using TWDxCleanLinks (the "Service") — including the web cleaner, iOS Shortcut, and public API — you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Personal Use Only

TWDxCleanLinks is free to use for personal, individual purposes. This includes cleaning links for personal sharing, integrating the public API into personal projects, and using the iOS Shortcut for individual use. Individual employees may use the Service on their own devices without issue.

Commercial use is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to: integrating the API into a revenue-generating product or service, using the Service in automated commercial pipelines, reselling or repackaging cleaned links, deploying the Service as part of a paid SaaS offering, or any use at scale on behalf of a company or organisation. No commercial licensing path is available at this time.

3. What We Provide

The Service consists of a URL tracking-parameter cleaning engine accessible via the web cleaner at /Cleaner/, a public REST API at /api/clean?url=, and an iOS Shortcut for use in the iOS Share Sheet. The Service is provided free of charge for personal use and is subject to availability. We make no guarantee of continuous uptime, accuracy of results, or fitness for any particular purpose.

4. Rate Limits

To ensure fair access, the public API enforces the following rate limits per IP address:

20 requests per minute
120 requests per hour

Requests that exceed these limits will receive an HTTP 429 response. These limits apply to all users — no higher-limit tier is available.

5. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to:

Automate large-scale scraping or batch processing
Deliberately circumvent rate limits (e.g., rotating IPs)
Integrate into any commercial product, pipeline, or revenue-generating context
Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service
Process URLs for any illegal purpose
Attempt to reverse-engineer or exploit the cleaning rules engine

6. Data & Privacy

We do not collect personal data, store submitted URLs, or serve advertising. Your IP address is used transiently for rate-limit counting only. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Intellectual Property

The cleaning rules, codebase, branding, and all associated materials are the intellectual property of TWDxCleanLinks. The cleaning rules database (TWDxCL-rules) is proprietary. You may not copy, redistribute, or use any part of the Service's intellectual property without express written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that all tracking parameters will be detected and removed.

Safety screening results are indicative only and do not constitute security advice. TWDxCleanLinks is not responsible for any harm arising from reliance on safety check results. Users are advised to verify suspicious URLs with dedicated antivirus tools before acting on them.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TWDxCleanLinks and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law & GDPR

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts for any dispute arising from your use of the Service. This Service processes personal data in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation) and the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988–2018. The supervisory authority for data protection matters is the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC).
